The 7 Best Live Music Venues in Orlando

The music scene in Orlando is literally “jam”-packed with jamming bands and live music galore. Orlando has set the record for being the #1 tourist destination in the nation according to Visit Orlando. With that comes endless options for entertainment and live music. It seems like everywhere you turn, there is a venue advertising live music or shows. But where should you actually go? Want to watch a concert? Want to check out a smaller but equally as fun live music joint? Want to dance and drink while listening to some of the best bands in town? I’ve got you covered, my friend. Whether you’re a visitor or a local, this list highlights the 7 best live music joints in town.

1 – Hard Rock Live Orlando

The Hard Rock Live Orlando rests within the Hard Rock Cafe at Universal Studios® Resort. Known as the “Coliseum of Rock”, shows here typically involve the best in sound and light shows, large audiences ready for a rockin’ great time, and major performers like upcoming concerts featuring Rick Springfield and the Reggae Love Fest which includes many major reggae artists. Click here to see the schedule of events. This is definitely a place to check out if you’re looking to watch a show by a major act. You can also enjoy the great food and drinks the Hard Rock Cafe® has to offer while you are enjoying your stay at the Universal Studios® Resort.

2 – House of Blues Orlando

The internationally known House of Blues® chain sits its Orlando location at Disney Springs® West Side and is known for its great line up of various major acts and live music of all genres, including an explosive night life scene with high-energy DJ’s , light shows, and dancers like you would see if you went to ‘Hospitality Night’, which invites those working in the hospitality industry free entry with their ID’s. I’ve personally attended this event one time and, let me tell you, it was awesome! I loved the DJ who played a little bit of everything I love: Electric Dance Music (EDM), Hip-Hop, Reggae, 90’s music, and more! According to, this location “lives up to the chain’s billing as being as one of the best live music venues in the country”.  The House of Blues® also has awesome Cajun style food and delectable drinks, by the way, so I wouldn’t miss out on that, too, if I were you. I personally think the live music scene is where it’s at with various shows including singer Lauryn Hill, just had her concert there this past December. 3 – Citywalk’s Rising Star

Up for some Karaoke? Want to live your rock star dreams and sing with a live band to your favorite song? Citywalk’s Rising Star at Universal Studios® Resort is the place for you. Guests can choose from a song off the (forever growing) song list and sing on stage with a live band and background singers. Show off your singing skills and ‘wow’ the crowd. Don’t know the lyrics? Rising Star has the lyrics on-screen so you never have to miss a beat! I am honored to have worked with musical directors and musicians from Rising Star, and I can only say that they are amazingly talented! You will definitely feel like you are singing along to the original track. You don’t need to sing like Whitney Houston to have a great time at Rising Star. It’s all about having a good time! This is a definite must to check out if you’re visiting Orlando or want to have a fun night out with friends! 4 – Tin Roof Orlando

“A Live Music Joint”, the world famous Tin Roof is one of my favorite places is to enjoy live music, have drinks, and eat mouth-watering food in all of Orlando. They are located on International Drive right in front of the new Orlando Eye! All week they have the best live bands, musicians, and singers around! The atmosphere here is so chill and laid back.With the first Tin Roof location set in Tennessee, this Orlando location totally has a country vibe. An American flag is the focal point, painted right on the stage wall for all to see. You get a feeling you’re right in Nashville and I love that. Highly talented live bands perform right before your eyes, jamming out to every genre of music. You’ll enjoy this place either way, whether you want to dance your butt off on the dance floor or prefer to take a seat as you drink some tasty brews. Everyone is there to enjoy live music and have a good time. I love the fact that you can come as you are and don’t have to follow strict dress codes to enter. 5 – Mango’s Tropical Cafe

If you’re looking to spice up your night with a little Latin flavor, Mango’s Tropical Cafe located on International Drive in Orlando is the place for you! This location is one of the newer venues in Orlando. Mango’s features live dinner shows, meaning you can eat some tasty latin inspired food while you watch a show! Shows range from Latin, Disco, Hip Hop, or even a Michael Jackson tribute show with excellent live music, singing, and dancing. After the dinner show you can enjoy an incredible nightlife scene with featured DJ’s playing all genres of music. 6 – Señor Frog’s

Another popular favorite on International Drive in Orlando is the franchised, Señor Frog’s. Señor Frog’s is known for its party island themed scene with wild, electrifying live music and nightlife. Latin nights on Saturday nights are a must if you’re sight seeing along I-Drive. Señor Frog’s has awesome food and great drink specials to keep you partying all night long! I personally love to go to Señor Frog’s when I want to party with friends and enjoy the live music. Every time I drive by, Señor Frog’s always seems to be busy. 7 – Blue Martini Orlando

Blue Martini is located in Pointe Orlando on International Drive. It is an upscale lounge with awesome food and great drink specials. They even made it to the top 10 on USA Today’s 10 Best List. This Orlando chain of Blue Martini has live music nightly and all the bands I have seen perform here are amazing! Thursday night is Latin night if you want to crank the heat up and dance to sultry, latin music. Blue Martini Orlando is definitely the place to be on a Friday and Saturday night, with high-energy, extremely talented bands that will keep you on the dance floor wanting more! After the band is done, featured DJ’s take over to keep you moving and groovin’!
